Has anyone seen the state of the 1798 monument and the grave of John Moore lately, located near the traffic lights and junction of Ellison Street?
The grave & monument is black with grime and dirt and the slabs of concrete which surround the base was dug up a few years ago and never replaced. There are two lovely trees next to it but it looks terrible overall.
I wish that local councillors would stop squabbling about the Ernie O’Malley monument and direct their efforts and resources towards cleaning up this neglected section of the Mall.
