There is not one E.U country that is not having to make savage cuts in this global recession why should we be spared? there is a mini budget in April where a futher 5 billion of cuts and tax rises have to be implemented, or else by September Ireland will be in same boat as Iceland, Bankrupt no one will lend to us, please may i correct you Professor Drumn does not get any bonuses neither do any hospital manager they are on set salaries. We are in the midst of a global recession and downturn, Governments in the Western World are all having to make cut backs and whatever Government is in power here the same cuts will have to be made, it will hurt and its not going to get better. We can protest and moan but the cuts should have been done in the last budget, from todays G20 it seems the world will take till about 2013 to 2015 to show slight improvements in growth. WE need to support each other and get used to fact that some services that we may have took for granted will dissappear and education, health, and services of local authorities will be at a basic level for years to come, prepare for the worst case possible this could lead to a depression and stagnation of many economies, we should no longer expect any government to provide miracles for us, there is no more money left, we must wait till world economy recovers
