As in Ireland, there is only one national hospital for seriously sick children. My argument, badly made I admit, was in relation to cancer care, should there be one or a few regional care centres (which should produce better results) or should there be one in every county hospital. Some on this board accepted the argument but were against it not having one on the north east region (valid point in my opinion). But others were against it because of parking. I just wanted to ask if regional centres were the way forward (I propose they are), second question is how many (and in a population of c.4million people, I think there is still too many. Then you can use maths or politics to decide where they should be placed. In this method there would always be some of the population who will have a greater distance to travel.
