You are exaggerating the issue. I am simply saying that if anyone is caught carrying a knife illegally then the due process of the law should take place and let the courts decide the outcome. The accused will have a legal representative to argue his case. No system is perfect but as citizens we have a right to be protected. Both you and I know that it is illegal to carry a knife in a public place without a proper reason for doing so. Both you and I also know that if a youth is carrying a concealed knife somewhere on his person then this is a real cause for suspicion. Also while our legal system is not perfect it was that same legal system that cleared Frank McBrearty of all charges and it was that same legal system that proved the gardai guilty.
