Moderation to prevent libel against named local persons has been enforced here for a number of years now. Irish libel/slander laws are pretty draconian. You will find that there are very few Irish-based sites that even allow open anonymous posting like this one. Politics.ie has had to move offshore in the past year or so due to legal threats by politicians. Even boards.ie have had a total block on anyone mentioning various companies activities due to continuous legal threats. Someone did set up an offshore Castlebar board where presumably you can say anything you like but it looked like nobody was too bothered to post there.

Unless you have a big wad of cash to fund the site against legal unpleasantness the policy has to remain in place.
