This is an age old question that even the pharaohs wondered and they like us switched from one man made god to another and never had this question answered. We, living in these times are a blessed people as now we can have that question answered thanks be to Jesus Christ. To answer your question, I personally can never convince you of this. I can however direct you to one who can, one who is just waiting for you to ask and delights to answer you no matter what your past life was. Just say to Him "Jesus Christ I accept you as my Lord and Saviour" and you will be answered.
