I reckon the swans on Lough Lannagh at this time of year will be Mute Swans not Whoopers - the photo above is a Mute Swan - Black Eyes red end to beak. A Whooper has a yellow beak with a black tip. I could be wrong the winter migration may have started already? Normally the Whooper is a winter migrant - October to April according to bridwatch Ireland
