Daz, you're making a valiant rearguard defence of the public sector below (though descending to the stereotyping that is being thrown at you is questionable) However I've been wondering for some time if the comments are merely a windup. Anyway once you see the person you are dealing with is obviously unwilling to at least explore the merits of the other side of the argument, its time to let it go.

There are 370,000 public sector employees in this country and I'd imagine everyone one of us has family or friends in that number (I have both immediate family and numerous extended family and some close friends). I've always argued for cuts based on the unfortunate reality of our financial situation but I think its slanderous to tar all these people with the accusations below.

There are wasters too, don't get me wrong, but there are wasters in every walk of life.
