The Section 23 Tax money so liberally handed out to builders via speculator developers is specifically responsible. The get rich quick kids took the money and run leaving the taxpayer to pick up the tab. The outlandish house prices now have to be paid for in lifetime mortgages so removed from any reality. The construction sector wrecked the coutnry with a lot of help from their FF friends in the tent at the Galway races.
