The point is that it was the construction industry - indeed in cahoots with local and national politicians that have wrecked the country - it's not the public servants who are responsible - it's not the thsoe now out rescuing people from floods. And indeed the floods are a symptom - the fruits of corrupt planning and Galway tent construction-led politics.

Whether you took the 'king's shilling' or not doesn't change the fact that all ordinary taxpayers are still paying your wages and we will be for many years after you have spent them.

Therefore it's a bit rich for you to be blaming public servants for our current economic woes - your wages are being paid for too remember and we are getting nothing in return - all those empty houses and rotting estates featured on Ryan Tubridy yesterday mornign are all that we have for our NAMA money.
