Then the pedant not only refuses to be honest enough to admit that he is wrong but then finally after exhausting all the diversionary tactics just turns nasty and starts calling names and insults.

Your behaviour is typical of the kind of people who support religion today it seems. Surely the antithesis of the precepts of Christianity and most other religions - dishonesty and then resorting to name-calling and insults when found out. At least you are in company of red-hatted cardinals and purple clothed bishops who have difficulty with stats and discerning the reality of things around them too and the effect of priests abusing children in particular. One of the effects is that less people attend Mass.
