We should not use income taxes to replace the revenue we used to get from the property boom. The government and unions were extremely short sighted in allowing the country to become so dependant on that revenue and we should not take that mistake on a permanent basis.

The deficit went from 8 to 22 billion. Its completely impractical to raise 14 billion a year on a permanent basis from income tax.
