What we got was public sector pay cuts starting on incomes €0 per annum upwards, on top of the pension levy, cut in expenses, non-renewal of contracts. Not to mention cuts to social welfare (i don't hear everybody drawing the link between the private sector workers who lose their jobs here, only when it suits them), child benefits, etc. no property taxes, no change in income taxes, no revenue measures whatsoever. "We all have to take the pain" is some kind of rubbish, and may Lenihan rot for standing up and saying it.
