What you forgot to mention was that the over 65s were more in favour of the church’s position on schools, as were the views of the 18-24 age group (those just out of primary education). You also choose to ignore the positive side of the poll that the majority of voters believe that the church will change to prevent clerical child abuse from happening in the future.
Those most opposed to the Catholic Church’s involvement were in Dublin city and of course Sinn Fein. Now who in their right mind wants their leadership?
Look forget about your silly notions, Ireland is a Catholic country and we want the Church's involvement in our schools. What you are recommending is to throw out the baby with the dirty bath water. The dirty bath water is gone, so bless the brightness instead of cursing the darkness.
