But it was not - it was a 1000-person poll across the country that came up with a view (by a poll of 61% - which in most democracies counts as a majority) that the church should get out of schools.

You denigrated the poll attacking supposed readers of the Irish Times but refuse to admit that your initial premise was wrong.

But now you say "give me patience please"?

The full phrase is 'God give me patience please' - This is an a oath and a fairly serious request for a person preaching from a religious standpoint

Why not just ask God for a bit of honesty instead of patience? Why not go back and say you got it wrong from your very first post on this thread? The readers of the Irish times were not polled. The poll was a national poll of 1000 people across the country and a majority said no to the Church on the basis of the question they were asked? Simple eh?

You made a mistake and you should just honestly admit. Instead you are swearing oaths asking God for patience because people do not believe in your Peter Pan world of a Holy Catholic Ireland. An Ireland in which it was only the 18 to 65 year-olds who were abused by clerics? An Ireland in which the over 65s and under 18 year olds desperately want their children and grandchildren in the 5 to 11 year old bracket to be taught by nuns, priests and brothers overseen by Bishops who like you cannot admit a mistake to save their lives?
