It wont cost that much either. I'm sure the council will donate the land. If you can get 1000 voters in Castlebar UDC electorial area to sign a petition then I guarantee it will be built. All you need is a couple of hundred votes to get onto the council yourself. I would suggest you get the petition going, verify the names against the electoral register. Get everyone you know to register to vote. It will help if you can get plans for the landscaping and layout, this could be done as a GMIT civil engineering project so contact GMIT for help, I'm sure that there are quantity surveying students that are looking for a thesis this one should be perfect. When you have the price design and support then all you need to do is tell people that if the Castlebar town councilors don't waste money on travel to st Patrick's day parades in the US then there is plenty of money for a couple of lorry loads of cement to build the skate park. You could organise a fundraiser to for the landscaping costs. Best of luck with your endeavor keep us updated....
