Part of the named are Semi State companies which the Minister for Finance sits as a Director - some of which are profitable, (ESB / BGE), and some which expect tax payer handouts every year and have done so since inception, (CIE).
But yes I agree with your point - jobs for the boys, business acumen debatable, jollies galore, waste waste etc. Any such jobs for us in those cosy 9.30 - 4.30 well paid positions!
