Intel has really made a mess of the way it names and markets its CPU's, with so many different lines that are similar in many respects, but these i7,core 2 duo etc. names are meaningless to the general public. Everyone remembers the pentium inside logo but since then things have gone downhill. They should really simplify the naming of their processor lines but maybe this is deliberate to confuse the consumer as to what they are really getting and at the same time make it harder for the competition to provide equivalents.
