One up for Quack Science?

Posted by False Positive on May 12, 2011 at 09:46:53:

I read an article in yesterdays Irish Times referring to an internet driven rumour that a massive earthquake would hit Rome on the 11th of May.

It got so bad that a number of businesses in the city shut down for the day.

It was all based on what was regarded as 'quackpot science' but I nearly fell off me chair last night when I saw the nine o'clock news on RTE telling us that there had been a major quake in Spain.

Now maybe there's loads of quakes everyday around the world, I don't know the stats I'm not a seisMick fella, but it was a bit freaky alright all the same . . .
