SF stuck to their principles and protested peacefully and I admire that. They didn't fall into the rose tinted populist approach to the Queen's visit that other politicians did.
The Irish people like to consider the Queen as the representative of Britain when it suits, like during her current visit but the Queen is the head for good and bad times. It’ll take a lot more than a visit by an aged monarch to paper over the cracks between Britain and Ireland. As I type, Her Majesty’s government is still refusing to provide official documents that would assist families who have had relations killed during the Troubles. Too much has been made of the Queen's visit.
