Sinn fein had a lot bigger gap to cross on this issue than mos parties so they could not have been expected to be jumpimh up and down in delight. Gerry Adams was very gracious in his words about the visit in my opinion and Sinn Feins right not to attend the functions is a basic one. which should be respected along with all others. while I welcome the qeens visit as a historic symbol. the amount of sycophantic nonsense which is coming from people caught up in this celebrity fever is getting a bit sickening to be honest.
She is after all a symbol of the a bygone age. where a persons worth is judged on the 'class' they are born in to. while it was grand to have her visit to build relations with our neighbour, this is something that should be opposed in our republic.
