I love cinema but not going to Castlebar cinema.
The staff are friendly, the tech is good and the content is pretty good too but the 'ambiance' is not what it should be . . . rip out the carpet lads, even it affects the acoustics in the theaters 'cos lets face it you just do not put the effort into cleaning it and it's easier to give hard floors a 'wipe'.
More importantly, you have to manage the patrons, even if that means hiring a bouncer because I go to the cinema for the 'experience', if the film is any good I expect to be wrapped in it along with my fellow audience members, I will most probably share their 'oohs and aahs' but I shouldn't have to put up with most of the shighte that goes on when people are disruptive.
I don't go anymore . . . I wait for the DVD and though it's a lot less exciting, less atmospheric and less emotional it stops me from getting angry with patrons who are there for other reasons.
