The high footpath at the entrance from Castle Street to the car park is a fantastic addition to traffic flow and pedestrian safety. The idiots with long 4-wheel drive vehicles who used to park half way across the entrance blocking incoming and outgoing traffic each morning during rush hour and for the remainder of the day can now either park on the footpath and get what's coming or else park in a regular spot like everyone else. (Of course just incidentally they were also parked across the clearly marked pedestrian footpath. Now at least the pedestrians have a few centimetres of protection to stop your expensive tyres running amok!)

Tyres don't come cheap - but it is up to the driver behind the wheel to point their expensive tyres to the road - not the footpath. If you veer off the clearly demarcated road then perhaps there is a question re your driving skills? A whop on the tyre is better than a dead or maimed pedestrian
