AS was said .. the lanes should be directed according to the heaviest traffic .. in the case of morning rush hour its obvious at Cathal Duffy's that traffic is predominantly heading for the Westport Road end with the next busiest being for the Mall area, with Station Road traffic being least, so in my opinion the right hand lane should be same at at Mulroys (for traffic heading right), and the left lane should be for straight on or turning left.
Another Bug Bear I have is the Traffic Lights at Station Road / Breaffy Road junction .. why does the 'left turn' filter light go 'off' leaving some motorists suddenly have to 'STOP' as the main lights are then 'RED', and you are supposed to wait for them to come on 'GREEN' before you can turn left again...its caused as few near small tips already !!
