You could say the same about either Cork who had their 800th. year celebrations and Dublin on their 1000th year .. but as far as I remember their 'birthdays' were based on when they got their City Charters .. was it not ?

Its just an Idea .. I'd hate to see someone later bemoaning the fact we didn't mark it with some recognision !
