To try and reduce the amount of spam we have made some changes to the board here on castlebar.ie which necessitates beginning again with a clean slate.
You can read your previous posts by clicking on the Previously... link at the top of the main page or alternatively the 'Go back to older postings' at the bottom of the page to read older posts which are now archived.
Archived posts can no longer be replied to - so if you want to keep a thread active you will have to start it again here.
We are looking forward to a less spam hitting the board - for a while at least. We apologise too for some recent accidental deletions of genuine posts that got caught up in the middle of long strings of spam posts.
Resolution for 2012 - we are looking forward to more constructive debates about topics that are local, national, global or simply just light-hearted. Attention is drawn to the rules in the disclaimer - particularly insulting other contributors and not making reasoned arguments in support of opinions and claims posted. As one moderator of an internet board (not this one) put it - I would not allow guests at my dinner table to insult each other so why should it be allowed on his board?
Happy New Year for 2012 to all our readers and especially to those who go to bother of posting their views here on the main bulletin board for Castlebar. We say 'Happy' advisedly as we are face into another tough year economically speaking (which also endangers this site's continuing existence in terms of loss of advertising revenue). We are approaching 185,000 posts and here's hoping that the posts you make and read here will be constructive and as positive as can be expected rather than overwhelmingly negative (which sometimes gets a bit grim for the moderators who have to read everything and sometimes wonder - why bother?).
Happy New Year from Castlebar.ie!
