Well James J you must be under 30 because no one in Castlebar was drinking lattes 30 years ago in 1982. Teachers were paying 65% tax, mortgage interest rates were 20%. There were more local shops and bars, but they were over charging, and treated their staff like servants, terms and conditions were poor. I think the people of Castlebar are in a much better place in 2012 compared to 1982. Even if your receiving dole payments your getting 40% more than 1992. That's 10 years ago and 400% more than 1982. In 1982 80% of a household budget was spent on food now its 20%.
