Hi June,

Your email address is not accepting mail.
I did a small bit of searching for McHales in Mayo around the mid-1850s to see were they particular to an area. McHale is a very common name here today. In the mid-1800s there were 351 McHale families in Mayo alone, by far the largest concentration in Ireland. Many of the men were named John or Thomas.
If you could expand on your information at all I may be able to track down your grandfather’s family. Would you know where in Mayo he was from, townland, parish etc? When he was born? Was he named John or Thomas?
