Protest at the sacred heart hospital

Posted by townie girl on May 15, 2012 at 15:50:17:

Was delighted to see the people come out and demostrate against he proposed closures of the beds in the sacred heart hospital. With the costs of beds its a shame that the units are not allowed to be utilised as step down care from mayo general care of the elderly ward and for elderly assessments. Also its sad that there is only ten beds available in the dementia care unit yet it just to have twenty patients. What is happening is that the services which were build up with great servcices have now been eroded. Yet all care is based on population and resulting in private nursing homes availing of the depise of public service. So well doen to the protesters and lets see what the taoiseach says
