You've never stayed in a B&B but you have already commented 'inappropriately' as you put it by calling country BB's 'lousy' - which in my dictionary means infected by lice?
But in any case you are much more likely to catch bed bugs in a big city hotel than a country B&B. If the Irish Times is carrying large front page adverts for bed bug removal this very week - you can be sure that they are not doing it for fun!
If you book carefully it's cheaper to fly than to take a taxi from the airport or to stay in an airport hotel. Whether on dole or, heaven forbid, a low income if you had to travel why add to the overall cost when every penny counts towards the mortgage or school books or even saving for a holiday? In any case too your comment was when have 'WE' become so stingy - you didn't refer to just our Castlebar Bound hitch hiker.
Money is too tight to mention so it's not fair to call being prudent stingy. That was where 'Rip-Off' Ireland came from - we had become a nation of spendthrifts buying stuff we didn't need and paying over the odds for everything and of course all fuelled by credit cards. Now we are repaying the debts run up nationally as well as personally.
People bring their own sandwiches to work too - 'stingy'? But why add to the cost of lunch?
