The country is broke. There are shortages in the health service, because highly skilled ambulance drivers (paramedics who do an excellent job) are still being paid more than doctors in Finland. I can understand the high wages during the boom times when paramedics couldn't afford to buy a house. You can buy a 3 bed semi in Castlebar for €100k now. So divide that by 2.5 and that's a fair salary for an ambulance driver.
Ive attached teh link to their current salary scales. This does not include shift allowance, overtime, and their generous pension entitlements.
