Therese,

I have never been one to 'hold back' on pointing out the lack of consideration given to some dubious costly decisions made by the Town Council in the not to distant past, and I welcome your justifications for voting as you did.

The reality is that a town the size of castlebar could Never support a 50m Pool and all that goes with it ..

however,

I would be of the opinion that if the money available was reinvested in the current facility and some arrangement was agreed with castlebar celtic, then it would be a much better location for the centre .. adjacent to the GMIT and between the 2 Special Needs schools.

Indeed Celtic Park could relocate to the playing pitch at GMIT and the cost of tiered seating and a GYM could be incorporated into the GMIT ground campus.

I know I've gone off your point .. but what I'm trying to say is that for the same cost or even less we could make a great Sports campus from the bits we already have in place !
