The whole point of a charity shop is to maximise income for the particular charity running the shop. Usually customers can buy at low prices, but if the charity can get good prices for what they sell they're doing their often voluntary and unpaid job well. Why donate to the shops if you're only going to moan about their mark-up? I suspect a fair percentage of their income is eaten up dumping rubbish that is left into them by people having a clean-out - if they can offset that cost by marking up valuable items, well good on them.
