Speed limits in Dublin centre of 30km/h. To protect and encourage pedestrians and cycling - healthy options.
Ever walked around the wide paved area through the flower sellers on Union Square in the middle of NYC?
Give the Mall - and the whole town centre - back to the pedestrians.
Slowing vehicles down and giving the upper hand to the walker and cyclist is the whole point.
If YOU can't negotiate the corners in your vehicle that they are deliberately installing to slow you down and to give more space to the mothers pushing their precious cargoes along at a gentle walking pace then - you are just driving too fast my friend.
Perhaps back to take a few advanced driving lessons - going around corners without hitting the kerb perhap?
Eventually the penny will drop and the car drivers will choose one of the many other routes for navigating around the town. There is no particular need for parking within 100 m of your work place when you think about it logically.
That 200 m walk back and forward every day could end up saving your life - or at least extending it somewhat - 'cos nothing more 100% than the fact that you are not going to get out of it all alive :)
