Which editorial was that out of interest ?

The other comments about which towns are doing better are nonsense from what I can see. Castlebar seems to be getting continual improvements, more so than most towns I travel through. The amount of people who travel to work in Castlebar for outweighs the amount that travel into Ballina or Westport.

The jobs point is a real concern though and I can understand people expecting something on that front. However working in multi national I can see why they all target the rich pickings the cities offer and Mayo can't compete there. He can't twist their arms to go here to much because its more important to get the jobs in Ireland than to get them in his backyard. Most job announcements have either been for the cities, or else for existing companies, there have been very few greenfield announcements in rural areas from what I recall though I stand to be corrected on this.

It remains to be seen what gains come from the West grid or the Belmullet transatlantic broadband projects.
