Perhaps if they tried to hold on to their more senior experienced staff they wouldn't have the situation where the mathematics papers are riddled with errors? Hooshing them out the door to save money has its own costs.
Comments on Morning Ireland suggest that this smacks of a rushed job - and obviously not proofed with the kind of accuracy you would expect for an important Leaving Certificate paper.
Similar to the 'Ah sure spelling doesn't really matter any more' - but mathematics is a little more unforgiving. You need experience, accuracy and time to do the job right.
