I was thinking about the humbert festival and thought it would be great to have something to remember it by.
I think castlebar would really benefit from a new monument and probably a large one.
I knlw these things are exspensive but I think it should be considered.
This monumemt would also be a reminder of Castlebars Town Coumcil before it is gone and the Mayo county council
wont build a monument because they are fixing footpathes in bohola.
This monument could be in honour of The gathering celebration - our humbert festival , The 400 year anniversarry of Castlebars charter and the end of our town council.
This monument should be iconic something that when people will picture when they think of Castlebar.
For example Paris - Eiffel Tower, New york - statue of liberty. Obviously they cant be on this scale but a smaller example would be the clock in westport.
Something of that height would be beautiful in Castlebar. Like the cenotaph at rehins woods. That kind of thimg.
I know this would be exspensive but it would be a huge boost for tourism and the overall image and experience of visiting castlebar
