In fairness this is a bit like the politician at the funeral dilemma in that an absence of bunting/banners might be noted and held against a business, especially if all those around you are bedecked.
I do agree alright that some of it is terribly opportunistic and tacky, but such is always the nature of bandwagon jumping I suppose.
Re your comment about tickets, I suppose it's always going to be a controversial one and plenty of undeserving end up with tickets while those worthy go without and undoubtedly money talks as well as who one knows. But such will always be the way with the basic law of economics when demand vastly exceeds supply.
One thing that was much commented on in the run up to Sunday however was the suggestion that those that paid well over the odds for tickets should send the stubs to Croke park so that those engaged in profiteering through their association with a club can be identified and blacklisted.
