But what does it mean, that he 'ignores Castlebar'?

Will people never learn the damage this clientelism approach/mentality has wreaked and will forever do so on our country?

A TD found to have intervened in business, housing, criminal, welfare or any affair beyond consideration of national policy and legislation to the betterment thereof should be up before a standards committee.

They have a job to do, a vital role. Unfortunately the electorate isn't half qualified to perform its own role in the process, and so we get overblown councillors horsetrading using powers beyond their comprehension on issues beyond their wit.

And the odd one with a half an idea of national vision or responsibility loses their seat toute-suite to the next gombeen in line promising to bring the factories local and fix the potholes, neither of which is his bloody job.
