If we just blindly vote for anyone not aligned to the main parties we'll just end up with the local equivalent of Ming and Mick Wallace. Hardly what I'd call a change for the good. I'd much rather vote for people who have some chance of influencing things within the major parties. By all means we should give them a hard time time if they've done stuff we disagree with, and switch vote to a better option if needed to punish them. However just voting for a.n.other without understanding what they're about and what they can achieve doesn't seem like a good idea.
