Yeah, tend to wax a bit lyrical sometimes, here's another go.

Blaming politicians is pointless when decisions have occurred over such a long period of time and we the electorate stand equally to blame in that case.

Main Street state is not as bad as you seem to think. Retail growth was always a priority for our town and that growth was never possible in Main Street as it was/is. The growth happened very close to Main Street which at least kept business centered in town.

So, would you rather a quaint Main Street with its limited employment and commercial potential, or the much stronger retail town we have, with a street at its heart ripe for new business now that times are improving and it's had a facelift...
