1. It is a friendly deal, as opposed to the asset-stripping intentions of Valeant.
2. Since it started with 25 employees in 1975, Allergan Westport has gone from strength to strength. It's skilled and innovative workforce have won the Westport plant the introduction of various new lines. In recent years Botox has been the most successful of these.
All the Botox for all markets outside the Americas is made in Westport.
A massive new extension for Botox is nearing completion - about 90 milliion euros worth.
Every confidence locally that present jobs, almost 900 will be retained, and may be increased.
As for the learned poster who suggested that the N5 improvement would not be needed without Allergan - check the tourism figures. Westport is the county's tourism mecca
