Given that "the banks" have been bailed out to the tune of anything up to €450 billion by the Irish taxpayer its about time they got more proactive in recovering some of this money.
If this means more repossessions so be it. The repossession rate in Ireland to date has been less than a fifth of that in out nearest neighbour and the process often takes many years. The longer people are allowed labour under the delusion of a sense of entitlement to a free house the less reason there is for the hundreds of thousands who DO pay their mortgages (or rent) to continue doing so.
