Because climate change is a more accurate term.
"Global warming" suggests warming everywhere but some places could actually get colder as ocean currents (such as the North Atlantic drift) shift.
Higher global average temperatures will lead to drought in some places but in other places the precipitation cycle will be speeded up = more wind and more rain.
