I really don't understand your point, what are you looking for, more separation between the parties?
If that is the case, yeah I would like that too. But you have to remember that at the end of the day we get what we vote for - and like it or not they represent the voters choices.
You list out the professions, what would you prefer a Doctor, accountant or maybe labourer, plumber? People in politics tend to be people of a certain background, something that gives them confidence to stand in front of a people (not an easy thing to do btw). To be fair, there is a share of cowboys, but I'm afraid that is part of every walk of life.
All I can really say in general, is for me vote for the person you think can make some change and will be good for the county and county - that will effect the party compositions in the longer term. If you can't find someone who sits well with you, run yourself or get behind someone else to run. But don't sit there thinking its someone else's problem.
