This is certainly more promising than expecting politicians to 'bring' jobs to Castlebar.
It is time people in the west stopped with the client mentality, expecting the big people, - politicians etc- to provide jobs for them.
Indeed, it is perhaps a symbol of how bad things are (and how despondent people are) that any time something big comes for sale in Castlebar (the old post office, the Imperial hotel, and so on), their is a clamor for the 'Council' to buy the property.
It is a bit sad. Sad that all we can expect is the government (which the council is effectively an arm of) to buy big buildings. It doesn't say a lot for our self confidence, and belief in ourselves.
Well done to Cashins, they believed in themselves, their business, and their product.
I wish more of us could do the same.
