Hi Jennifer. To the best of my knowledge, it was MacFirbis who referred to that 1393 event, but I'm not sure in which of his writings.
Another poster referred to a TV documentary. It was an RTE production showing a group landing on the stack. They found the remains of two houses there, some broken quern stones, and the remains of a wall with a sheep run (?) feature in it. All of these were from the Medieval Period. You might have a look at O'Donovan's Letters for Co, Mayo. Good hunting.
