Any info on who built the sculpture who's initiative was it? The use of the massive tricolour on the 24th looked fantastic. To see more of this during state events etc would be great.
Thought the town looked really well during the recent bank holiday weekend plenty of colour and some excellent window displays well done, a small enough effort in the grand scheme of things but you got a sense of togetherness or is that pushing the boat out a bit?
The same goes for the towns 1916 celebrations parades, ceremonies window displays, commerative plaque in the mall I thought all of this was very impressive.
Anyhow don't think these things get enough mention around here, there's too much begrudery focusing on all that is negative mixed in with some sort of crass and twisted sense of humour.
