As nice as the commemoration was on the 24th, it was very poorly supported, less than 100 people at it and even less if you take away photographers, dignities and members of the armed forces.
Actually more people were involved in the proceedings than actually turned up to view them, which is a shame.
The begrudgery is well merited, these events for the Rising were near compulsory around the country and whatever was done for the Bank Holiday is just a drop in the ocean compared to the serious issues the town faces.
But it is all babysteps, better people do something no matter how small or insignificant it seems, then just giving up and doing nothing.
