I do sympathise with you, but as an end user their is very little you can do. It is unfortunate that you got lumped with what seems to be a dud PC. If it is any consolation, many people also get stuck with badly made new cars.
I am sure you are very annoyed at Gateway, and so you should be. However, I don't see how installing a new video card will fix much. Either their was something wrong with the one they shipped to you, or the one they shipped you was wrong for the configuration you bought. In either case, they should pay and install it for you.
Your situation is sadly often typical of what happens with the Dells, Gateways (and soon Apples)of this world. These PCs are sold and put together like any other consumer durable and shipped. When something goes wrong it messes up these companies systems. This is because these companies only want to sell, sell, sell. That is their sole role in the economy. After sales service, and customer support is seen as a necessary evil.
